Only drink water. Believe it or not, the easiest way to cut down your calorie intake each day is to eschew drinks like soda, alcohol, juice and energy drinks. Your water should be cold. You can easily reduce your calorie intake by two hundred just by cutting out two servings of soda each day (this number could be higher depending on the type of soda you drink). Not only is water good for you and helpful for cutting down on your calorie intake, it helps you decrease the amount of sugar and high fructose corn syrup you consume (as well as other ingredients and chemicals that don’t help your health).
Start reading the labels on the foods you buy. You probably think that doing this is a giant waste of time or a big hassle but you need to believe us when we tell you that the ingredients in your food do matter a lot. You want to avoid things like high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils. Avoid trans fats. Make sure, before you buy them, that the foods you purchase are free of these foods. Substitute healthy and organic brands of foods for the less healthy brands of foods that you have been buying. You might not taste much of a difference at first but your body will definitely react better to the food that is healthier.
Balance is something you need to practice. There are all sorts of fad diets that will tell you that you need to cut out entire food groups. Most of these diets have a no-carbohydrates clause which is not good. The fact is that you need carbohydrates to have energy. You just need to practice moderation when you take in carbohydrates. Stay away from fad diets that tell you that you will only lose weight if you cut out whole sections of a balanced food intake. If you want to stay healthy you need to eat a balanced diet. Anything that tells you anything else is a fake.
